Spanish Rice Anyone?

On Monday night, I had to make dinner for the guys and my dad and I decided to make it Mexican. Well, dinner was ready, but dad was running late-- so I was looking for something else to make, since I had like and extra half hour to kill. I found a recipe online on how to make Spanish Rice. Well, one half hour later, dad was home.. And the Spanish Rice was not done...
It took a whole lot longer then I had planned for it to take- although I suppose that it whould have worked at least a little bit better if I had used the right kind of rice...
A SIDE NOTE OF CAUTION: if you are going to make Spanish Rice, don't use Brown Long-Grain Wild Rice, it doesn't work out that well.. Come to think of it, why the heck do we have Brown Wild Rice in the first place?? LOL

Well, my Spanish Rice did come out..eventually.. well, sort of..
We actually had it later that night.

We actually still have some left over.....

Once Upon a Today...
Maryrose, Levi, Jesse and I went with my dad to work. Well, Levi and Jesse brought their ripsticks with them.

FYI: THIS IS A RIPSTICK

They were skating around the upstairs part of the office when one of them offers to teach me how to ripstick, too. So, I was like, "Ok, sure!"
Well, Jesse was trying to show me how to twist my foot the right way (to make it go) and trying to teach me how to start off (since I'm a beginner. haha) He finally gave up trying to "teach" me how, so he decided to "show" me how...
So, he gets on his ripstick and literally starts singing to me how to do it- in Opera! It was HILARIOUS!!
Then Levi grabs his ripstick and starts skating/singing (in Opera, too) with Jesse!
-Actually, they didn't sound that bad either..




I can't believe that I didn't  know this before!! My brothers are future Opera Singers in the making!! I could have been making millions already...

SO Excited!

I am very excited about this weekend!! First, on Friday night, me and a group of friends are going to go to watch The Avengers. Then, on of my friends, Sarah Dill, is going to spend the night at my house, because in the morning, we are going to help my Youth Group/Church pass of food for the W.L. Garage Sales that day (Saturday). Later that afternoon, Sarah, Rosie, my mom, and Jesse are going to meet my dad and two brothers at the Civil War reenactment they are in (they're leaving tomorrow)- we are just going for the Civil War Ball, though!! haha! =) Anyway, it is going to be GREAT! I am so very very excited!! yay!! =)

Chicago Trip

Ok... yes.
I will admit to you that I've been a failure with blogging for the past two weeks...
A couple of days I said that I would try to get my picture and give you the while trip load down later that day.. That was Wednesday.. Today is Tuesday.
FAIL.
Oopsies!!

But now, I have PICTURES for ya! YAY!! =)

As you know we went to Chicago last week, to hang with the grandparents.. Well, as it happens, my Grandpa is the President of ICO (Illinois College of Optometry- for real, he is!, check it out.. JUST CLICK HERE!! =D) and he arranged a field trip for us! It was great!! =)

First, we got to tour one of the rooms where they have lectures and stuff.. That was really fun, cuz they have really COOL chairs! LOL (seriously though, they WERE really cool...)

Then we went to the Library, and toured a few other important places in the college.

After that, we went to another room where this guy showed us how lenses and light work. That was fun, too! But then... (my favorite part!! =D ) One of the Dr. teacher people let us look through the fancy eye machine at each other's eyes. (The front & BACK of the eye!!) So cool!! =) She was a very nice lady and she taught us a whole lot of cool stuff. Here are pics..

Yeah, It's been a while...

Howdy, Partner!

Sorry it's been a while since I've been able to post anything... (I have not forgotten about my blog, I promise!) haha :) I've just been super busy and life has been super crazy lately..

Recently, we [my fam & I] were able to go to Chicago to see my Grandparents- I had a great time!! I am going to try to upload some pictures and get you all caught up on the happenings today...

Bath time?

Now, correct me if I am wrong, but you don't normally look out your bedroom window at 4:44pm and see a bird taking a bath in a puddle in your driveway, do you?

Yeah, That's what I thought...

Well, as it just so happens, I looked out my bedroom window at 4:44pm today and saw a bird taking a bath in a puddle! I've never ever never seen anything like that, have you? It was the funniest thing ever!! (ok, maybe not EVER, but it was super super funny. ☺)

Unfortunately, I was not brilliant enough to take a video or one single picture until it flew away... But, fortunately for you, I drew a picture of it just for you!! ☺
