I Wanna Be a Toys "R" Us Kid!

I know that this is like my 10,000,000th post today, but I just wanted to write down one more thing before I go to bed.. Then, in like 20 bazillion years, when I look back on this blog, I will have one more thing to remember ;)

So, my awesome big brother, Silas (Mr. Cecil Fredrick's, my affectionate name for him..) is a junior this year, and he's been busy working on trying to decide what to do after he graduates, what college to go to, what to major in.. all that jazz.

We were both in the bathroom brushing our teeth just a few minutes ago, when I was asking him about what he thought about college, and growing up & stuff, and he said with a smile (and I quote.)


"Well, I don't wanna grow up, I wanna be a Toys "R" Us kid!"

I like Pants

So.. Ummm, tonight I was thinking about my favorite radio program, Adventure in Odyssey.
And, I was reminded of one of the episodes  called, Poetry in Slow Motion.

In one of the scenes, there is this boy, Charles Thompson, who has to write a poem for a class in school, and this is what he came up with..

(I believe it's called "I Like Pants")

I put on pants every day.
To go to school or to play. 
I like pants. 

Sometimes I wear pants of blue, 
or brown to go with my shoe. 
I like pants. 

Sometimes I feel sorry for ants. 
Because they can't wear pants. 
I like pants. 

Pants cover my legs so that I can go. 
Without them I would be cold I know. 
I like pants. 
I like them so.


Anyhoo, I thought it was kinda funny.. LOL

Today, I would

1.) Like to thank my mother for letting me sleep in this morning! yay!!

2.) Like to give you a tiny piece of what has been going around in my mind for the past 24 hours...

My God is SOOO Amazing!

Wanna know something awesome?

My God is amazing.

When the bible says that God is a loving and compassionate God, a God that cares for his children, a God that listens to them, and loves to hear from us... it is true!

Thank you, Lord for all of the wonderful blessing that you have given to me!

It just blows my mind to think that God would care that much for us that he even pays attention to even the smallest, (what I would consider to be) the most insignificant requests!

I have a really cool example for ya:

This spring, my mom asked me what kind of sport I would like to do this year for school. (After looking over my options to find the sport with the cutest outfit.. lol) I said, "I think I'll play tennis..."

Hahaha! Very funny, Valerie! You see, that's kinda a tall order here, since you can't even get tennis lessons for teens my age around here!!

So, I never really actually asked God personally (prayer)to make a way for me to play tennis- but he answered my request ANYWAY!

There is a home school family who has been playing tennis forever- and just a few days after I had said that I wanted to play tennis, this mom was talking to my mom and a bunch of other women and asked if anyone would be interested in taking tennis lessons!!!

I have been taking tennis lessons (with some other really cool kids!) ever Wednesday morning and Thursday night ALL SUMMER LONG!! Our last lesson was tonight! The lady who is teaching it is AMAZING! She is so kind and patient!

If you have ever doubted that God hears us- just look around you, even at the simple things! God   hears every cry for help, he sees every tear you cry, and know exactly how you feel, in the good and the bad!
Don't doubt it even for a minute!
Don't you do it!! ☺

Eureka! ...And some other random junk that I wrote down to waste your time with....

So, today I learned that there actually IS a reason to keep your room clean...

You see, on Wednesday night, after Youth Group, my big brother, Silas, my sissy, Rosie & I went to Subway and hung out with the cool peeps there... (cuz that is all we have to do out here.. haha =)

Before we left to go home, I remember texting my Padre (haha) that we were on our way home.
The next day, I was trying to remember what the heck I did with stinkin' cell phone and I just could not for the life of me remember what I did with it.

Keep in mind that was Wednesday! So, tonight, I finally cleaned my messy room (Side note: Mom had been asking me to please clean it, for over a week and a half now! Sorry mommy!! Have mercy on me! haha =)

Anyway, I was looking under my bed for clothes and I found the jacket I had put on Wednesday night. (Will you believe that that was the only thing under my bed?! Can I get a "way to be super awesome, Valerie!", or WHAT? haha! jk) I was bringing my collection of dirty clothes over to my laundry basket when I felt something big and hard in the picket of my jacket... Eureka! My (wonderful, beautiful, amazing LOL JK!!) cell phone!!
Praise the Lord, O my soul!!  =)

On another note, though..
If you have ever listened to Adventures in Odyssey (www. whitsend.org) before, you would know that they are having a "get in the show!" contest! All you have to do is send in your video audition.
And, just for the heck, I decided to enter.
I mean, why not? Right?
Chances are, that the one person in 3,000 is not going to be me! haha =)

So, if you happen to think of me on October 1, when they reveal the top 12 finalists, if by some crazy chance, I'm chosen.. you should vote for me! LOL!! =) just go to their web site, as listed above =)

Seriously, though.. The most exciting part was when one of the guys hit me with their golf ball.. Let's just say that they are not exactly the most talented team ever... haha -) But they are getting better! yay!!!

I just wanted to let you know that I have not forgotten all about my blog or you.
