"Waaake Up, Valerieeeee"

It is 8:03 on a Saturday morning. About 15 minutes ago, I was rudely awakened by my father. The story goes a little something like this:

ONCE UPON A TIME
Their was a fair maiden (that would be me) who was sleeping peacefully (ok, actually.. my brothers were up, so there is nothing peaceful about that. lol) Ok.. where was I? Oh yes!

The fair maiden was sleeping peacefully in her bedchamber. It was a beautiful morning (32 degrees and sunny, to be exact.).

But then, all of the sudden she can hear her father's voice. He said a little something like this.
"Oh good! Vallie is not up yet. Now I can play her a song!"
At that, we walks to my guitar, leaning against the wall, and begins to play. His song went a little something like this:

"Wake up, Valerie"

(Oh! Wait.. you have to sing it like WAY off key and rather screechy... like this:)

VERSE 1. "WAaake Up, VAalerieeeeee."
CHORUS. "WAaake Up, VAalerieeeeee"
VERSE 2. "WAaake Up, VAalerieeeee. Everybody, now!"
VERSE 3. (At this time, my mother starts singing along in her room) "WAaake Up, VAalerieeeeeeeeeeeee".

THE END

Yep, that's pretty much how I woke up this morning....

  1. Ah child, how blessed you are. You live in a house full of mirth. And reading your entry today brought me great joy. I will live vicariously through you. Lucy doesn't sing, she just wiggles and pounces on my chest.
